  • 10 weetjes over alfarroba

    Als je nog nooit gehoord hebt van alfarroba, dan gaan we daar nu verandering in brengen. Alfarroba is in Nederland niet héél bekend maar in Portugal, en dan vooral in het Zuiden, is het een favoriet ingredient voor allerlei variaties overheerlijke koekjes en gebak. In Nederland kennen we alfarroba onder de naam Johannesbrood en het meest bekende product in Nederland is Johannesbroodpitmeel. Er is nog veel meer te vertellen over Johannesbrood. Hoog tijd dus om 10 weetjes over alfarroba op een rij te zetten!

  • Fernão Pires druif – Het Portugese wijndruiven ABC

    Fernão Pires is een van de meest aangeplante en veelzijdige Portugese witte druiven. Deze inheemse druif kom je in vrijwel alle wijnregio’s van het land tegen, met een sterke aanwezigheid in Tejo, Bairrada en Lisboa. In Bairrada kom je haar ook tegen onder haar andere naam, Maria Gomes. De wijn die van Fernão Pires wordt gemaakt is doorgaans droog en staat bekend om haar expressieve, aromatische karakter, met geuren van oranjebloesem, citrus en soms tropisch fruit.
